I'm wary any time a composer or songwriter talks about his music. I guess I've been over-exposed to these avant garde devoid-of-all-musicality-and-talent idiots who have to explain the concept behind the piece for us to understand and/or appreciate it. Well, I'll tell you right now what the concepts are behind my music ... let's see ... Matters of the spirit. Romance. Not necessarily in that order. Okay, that's sort of a little joke. A half-joke. In both my vocal and instrumental work, I have striven to combine the melodic and the rhythmic, the organic and the electronic to create a true fusion of the classical and the modern (pop, avant garde, hip-hop, house) and to create as brightly colored pieces as I can ... applying modern technology, beats, sounds, effects, to the songcraft of the past. We feel rhythm, but we remember melody. To this end, we have employed thirty years of analog and digital technologies, for the ages ... my trusty nylon-string guitar ... drums ... other vibrating instruments and electronic devices for the creation of pliant machine-made and vector-based rhythms ... charting the erotic, tensile fields that bridge harmony, melody, and undiluted electronic noise ... biomechanical love-bomb vignettes ... originals, covers, love ballads and pop songs of loss, obsession, and hope ... and let us not forget what one man and a guitar can do ... the pendulum swings ...
the passage from the dark into the light ... and back again ... pure pop music for the ages ... ... reliant on the great power that shines through all things, as sufficient unto the day. I leave it to you to judge how well we have achieved our goals. Above, find three categories ... Vocal/Pop, Classical/Electronic, and Video ... self-explanatory I think! Enjoy!
