you sported a new pair of shoes, patent cream color with a navy trim, like piping, wide square toe. It was a big question as to from whence they appeared, although I considered them appropriate.

Remember around 1972ish
You got a pair of cream color patent leather shoes, with navy color piping trim, wide square toes. I was wondering from where they had come, they were suited to you and I thought appropriate.

You have an amazing memory, Enid. I kind of remember those shoes. But I remember my purple platforms much better!
