{podcast} Grandma’s Red Cabbage Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Medium Red Cabbage
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup White Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Butter

Slice cabbage thinly, remove white core chunks. Add everything except salt and butter to a large pot, bring to a boil over medium heat. Turn heat down and simmer for two hours, stirring as needed. Add salt and adjust vinegar/sugar proportions to taste. Add butter to taste. Do not over-cook! (Although it’s not fatal if you do.)
