Hey Knox. Good story! I “came” to Meher Baba in Berkeley in 1971. The interesting thing about your story is how easy it is nowadays to “investigate” anything and anyone … (since the advent of the internet); and how after all the years you never decided to properly check out Meher Baba! If He cured your strep throat way back when, and gave you an end of the world dream … hmmm? Perhaps it might be worth a look. But Knox, truth be told, a more effective way to check Him out! (more effective than surfing the net, reading books, contacting Baba lovers etc.) is to simply repeat His Name (silently or aloud) for a bit. What’s a bit? Well it could be a steady minute or 10 minutes … or years to come! But if you’d like to find out whether Meher Baba could be as great as some folks you’ve met over the years claim that He Is. It’s real simple to find out for yourself .. on your own. Just repeat those 4 syllables for a while!

Jim – I know a couple of serious Baba-lovers. I have sort of an all-inclusive attitude about particular paths. I asked a Hindu friend once who his guru was (pictured on his necklace). His reply: “It does not matter. All the prayers go to the same place.” I rather like that. Thank you for writing.
