The movie projected over the stage as we entered the Cow Palace for Bowie’s Station To Station Tour in 1976, , Bunuel’s “Un Chien Andalou.”. Either Brian Eno’s “Another Green World” or Kraftwerk’s “Radioactivity” was playing on the public address system.

Fun fact: Dali and Bunuel created this film to inspire murder. They carried rocks in their pockets to throw at people at the screening just in case the audience decided to riot against them… but everyone loved it instead, much to their dismay. They also make cameos in this film; Bunuel is the man with the razor blade beginning at 0:52, and Dali (years before his signature ‘stache!) is the clergyman on the right at 10:41.

The Chronicle sent the zinc cut used to make the letterpress plates with which they printed the news paper. This is the one for this image.
